I thought the White House put up some law requiring accessibility to the web?

Unfortunately, the way I see it, this shouldn't surprise you . Google
hardly gives a damn about accessibility and there is the other factor
that any site that does any of the moddern web 2.0 or whatever you
want to call it becomes mostly or completely inaccessible, especially
to WindowEyes. About the only reason WindowEyes works on the web at
all today is because not all sites have done the modernization thing.
Until we get the new and improved next generation of WindowEyes,
whatever it ends up like, modern web equals inaccessible at least
until that happens. Try another screen reader? Hell, load the free
version of system access up and see if it works any better. Download
NVDA. May or may not work. To some extent the new web has screwed us
over with any of our options and the lack of standards will keep it
that way.

Hi, I have noticed since googlegroups has gone "new" the site is barely
accessible to Window Eyes users. Sure, you can get all the controls and
search functions, meaning, you can type in a search word or phrase and then

hit enter and you get a list of results. Of course, the only way you know you have results is if you use the mouse cursor to go line by line and then

hit the left mouse button the mouse pad slash key, to select the link, which

is not labeled as a link. If you turn browse mode on, and arrow down the
page, all it sounds like is the original page, without any search results on

it. Long story short, the new site sucks, in the accessibility department.

The old site was much more accessible, but woah to we blind computer
internet surfers, because the fix, if you want to call it, is finding a
sighted person to help us select the drop down menu and arrow down the
choices to use the old style site , which is only temporary, Googlegroups will get rid of the old way of displaying things. And there is no "customer

service" contact email address or form to fill out in regards to
accessibility complaints or issues.

Anyone else have the same issues, or am I just some whiney idiot who doesn't

know what is going on?

If the latter, can anyone help me deal with the "new "googlegroups?"

Thanks

Keith
