Maybe even make a setting somewhere, that tells WE to run in "agressive" or "nice" mode. That way, the user could decide whether he wants to run WE in a mode like now, dealing with whatever comes - or he could choose to run in agressive mode, well aware that could lead to some challenging situations (whatever they might happen to be).

I do agree, WE stops speaking way too often. In something like 90 percent of the time, NVDA will load, and get me out of a cramped place. This leads me to somehow conclude as you did, that WE simply gives up in the wrong places. On the other hand, noone of us want the screen reader to end up being that agressive, that it simply hangs the whole system, every time it can't figure what else to do. Yet, since NVDA has managed to make a screen reader that can get us out of a ssticky spot, it would be great to see WE do the same.

Maybe WE could have been constructed with an extra hotkey. When you get stuck somewhere, you could press things like Alt-Ctrl-A, and WE would kick in with its agressive mode, trying to crawl itself out of the sticky spot.

Just some thoughts.
