There are some enhancements to Outlook, such as message virtualization.
I cannot test since I do not have Outlook and use the client you don't
use smile. As for Windows Live Mail I am reading there are still
problems even with the beta.

Regarding your Outlook issue, can you go into the WE app manager and check
whether the Outlook Enhanced app is actually running?
The focus issue with Thunderbird is a Mozilla bug which we've worked around in
the TB Enhanced app. If it's not running, then I would expect your initial
focus to go into limbo just as you describe it. If TB Enhanced is running,
though, then let us know.
