"There is some truth in the idea that a windows upgrade may reduce the nature of the memory leak problem, as windows memory management has improved over the years."

In which case, I would say that the problem should affect other third-party software on previous versions of Windows, and not just Window-Eyes. the fixes to which you refer concern the Window-Eyes code, as a result of which the program offered markedly improved performance on the same Windows version.

Similarly - in numerous "read me" documents coinciding with releases of new versions of window-eyes, comment is made that specific memory leaks have been fixed.

For me, window-eyes v8.4 running on a windows 8.1 platform is more stable than window-eyes v8.4 running on windows 7, but the two machines have numerous other differences, which makes it difficult to conclude that there are memory management issues relating to window-eyes. What I do know is that the basic housekeeping task of a system restart is required more often with windows 7 than with windows 8. Windows 7 was a monumental improvement over its predecessors.

Moreover, I am at a loss as to how a memory leak could be remedied by simply upgrading to a newer version of Windows, (as suggested by one of the posts). I am however not convinced that the problem sited is due to a memory leak, that is to say, I have yet to see an acknowledgement from GW Micro or better still the necessary evidence from an independent party pointing to the presence of a memory leak.
Sincerely, Matthew
