One thing that hasn't been mentioned here is that if you are exporting email addresses from another program and importing them in to thunderbird, you will have to do a lot of cleanup of the addresses so they show up correctly. I exported my outlook express contacts to a csv file, and after importing them in to thunderbird, which was on another computer, I had to do a lot of data masssaging.

Hi guys,

For those who wish to have easy capability to move their email programs from
one pc to another, or to easily get back online with their email after format
the pc, I suggest that you install the portable edition of the Thunderbird. It
works exactly the same like the installer. Here is the link:

I've heard that WLM has crashing with loss of email issue and TB won't let you
readily move mailboxes from another computer to whatever will become your main
computer. without jumping through ridiculous hoops.

Also not necessary. I use Windows live mail, and have no issues. Others
are using Thunderbird with few or no issues. I know several folks who
have tried this hack, and have had unpleasant results. Proceed at your
own risk.

Hello,

This is not recommended by MS or GW and MS will not help you if
something goes wrong.

Thank you.
