I think folks are upset, because its a "Windows" standard. That's what I'm gathering.
To be fair, doesn't insert-delete still work for making text to be dropped, like back in the old days? Also, for the longest time, Supernova selected text this way, prior to v10, where originally the text selection commands on the web dealt with moving through text on a page. One thing for Window-Eyes that does need an update, is that append to clipboard app. Or have it built-in to the screen reader. Last update for that app was in 2008 I think.
