Hi, John. The F8 method makes copying formatting much easier, yes. Otherwise, you're spending a lot of time shift-arrowing to just the right place. Sighted people typically click and drag with the mouse to select large blocks, which is pretty much what F8 accomplishes (setting a start and end point, and copying everything in-between).
