Love to know if you find something on this. I'm on a Toshiba S75 laptop and the same thing is true. I saw one thing somewhere on the apps or start screen that I thought might do the trick as it was called something like "function Keys", but I didn't seem to get a change. For me, it also seems inconsistent, which is even stranger. If I'm in IE 11, Alt F4 will close the program, but in Office that pulls up the projection options.
