Hi John, Unless the flash drive has a switch on its shell, there is no way to protect its contents from modification, that is, formatting or deleting of contents. The only way to prevent data from being transferred to it, say, a virus, is to fill it upp as much as possible. Windows has a built-in command line utility to fill up empty space on a removable drive. If you need help with this, you can let me know. That's about all you can do. Smile
