Hi,
The new browse mode implementation means that certain elements which were spoken automatically are not done so in my experience, as is yours. I had to turn on a setting which is off by default to speak unlabelled buttons on my grocery ordering site. You find it under Verbosity, Browse mode, Miscellaneous, and tab over to the pair of controls named Speak unlabelled graphics. You could leave the Scope the same, but change the next radio button from No to Yes. This will certainly cause more unlabelled graphics such as buttons to be spoken, and yet you probably will notice more web page verbosity rather than less, which is a trade-off. After FWD’ing about a dozen messages that had been bounced back to me from this list, I was told it was my email provider, I spent an hour on the phone with them to find out that it was not my providers fault. Then today I got a message from support telling me that they had made a couple of changes and to try the list. It now works. So, Ok here goes... Empire back website After entering user name in the personal edit box there is a log in button. In WE 9 it no longer says login button, it only says “button” It always read as “login button” before WE 9. M.Facebook on the home page there are three buttons “add photos, check in, more” they have always read correctly befor and now with WE 9 all I hear is button, button, button... On Craigs list, which I use daily in my work I now hear a lot of extra stuff read that isn’t on the screen which makes it take longer to read through the adds. I think harshness for a product like window eyes, is a bit out of line. While there were bumps Tony, you have never told anyone on this list what problems you have been having, if you would maybe we could help you resolve them? From: tchild <mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 26, 2015 5:53 PM To: [email protected] Subject: WE support staff Hello all, I’d like to say thanks for efforts with WLM and other issues. I try not to get frustrated about these issues, but when everytime there is an issue the first answer is it the web developers fault, which a lot of times is true. However, as an “enduser” who is using the product and when a new version of that product comes out with “improvements” and what I experience is anything but improvements!!! Web pages that use to read great now have a bunch of stuff that isn’t on the screen, other pages with buttons that used to read correctly no longer do. I don’t really give a rats ass whose fault it is, all I know and care about is that it used to work great and now it doesn’t, and if the only change that has been made is with the screen reader then it must be the screen reader. People who are still using the earlier version of it have no problem the pages still read as they always have. So as far as I can see the “up-grad e” wasn’t an upgrade.
