Subject: Re: Testing for an the GWAudioKit
David,
If you have the audio kit installed, look in the AudibleMouse.vbs sample.
Specifically, you will see that we use the OnStateChange event to watch
when the audio kit becomes available. We set a global variable with the
audio kit object reference when it is ready and return it to Nothing when
it goes away. Thus, if you were to rip out the same routine in your code,
you could say something like:
If not AudioKit is Nothing Then
'... audio kit is available. Use it.
Else
'... It isn't. Fall back to whatever else you want to use.
End If

Steve

Is there a quick way, for my app to check to see, if the GWAudioKit is
installed and running on the computer. So if it is, I can go ahead and
use it, and if not, then my app will do all its job, but not try to play
any sounds. Well, all that I know how to do. Only how would I test if the
GWAudioKit is installed and running or not?
Thanks for your feedback.
