Thanks chip.

#1; you should be able to use any shortcut character, don't know why you had any problem.

Matt: It is a little strange. I can send you the other half of the code for you to try it for yourself.

#2. The arrow keys should just work between the menubar elements, and there's no special attribute or anything else which will effect how they work.

Matt: they work fine between the menubar elements
file, tools and help
However, when focus reaches the end of the menubar at file or help, it gets stuck , instead of moving to the other end of the menubar. So, when the arrow is focused on file, pressing the left arrow key produces no result and when the focus is on help, pressing the right produces no result either. I'd like to change that so that in the former case the focus moves to help, and in the latter to file.

#3. You'll need to google on, or find some examples of, specifying character data using the XML structure named cdata; it allows you to put special characters (including line breaks) into an xml character string. Or, you could use the UIDesign app to create your XML and it usually uses cdata when it creates structures for you.

Matt: What I want to achieve is the ability to begin a new line in the editbox by pressing the enter key. If your advice offers the same solution then I apologise for the misunderstanding.

Regards
Matt

Chip
