I tried attaching a sample file yesterday, but it was probably not allowed to
go through since the file is 3.5MB (it has 7 channels of data included).

It's possible that the nanomechanical mapping uses some other field
for conversion from raw values to physical. Consequently header field
“Z scale” is not present in the files. But as Scott said, it's hard to
tell without actually seeing the files.
