Hi Cynthia,
Yes it is getting chilly here now, but the dress is not going to be used in wintertime. The fair takes place in june, so its fine. I did send her some suggestions of reds i would like, but i am afraid she want a real red, like christmas red :-(. But we have not desided to buy silk yeat, i am going to make a cotton model first, and maybe on its way, and when she gets here to fit, ill talk her into some more 18th century reds. I think that this solid red, only was used for uniforms and hunting costumes? Maybe i could persuade her to go and watch Marie Antoinette next month, to get a feeling of the collours. It opens here nov. 17th. What a brilliant idea! I could go with her........... tata tata.........

Bjarne

There were plain reds Bjarne. Hogarth painted at least one lady at a wedding I believe - can't lay my hands on the book right now. And one of the Queens (Marie Leczinskia?) had herself painted in red velvet with a knotting shuttle?
