Hi
There is a portrait with prinsesse Adelaide i think, a sister to Louis XV wearing a red courtdress, its more like burgundy, and it has embroidered stars on it. Mauritia made a copy of this courtdress. But when it comes to Denmark its another story, because i have seen many portraits of danish nobility ladies wearing the french courtstyle, but they only wear it in grey or off white. About it was used to have a train outdoors, i really dont know, but i know that her train would be very messy very very quickly. But its no problem as she realise this, so we have given up the train. My guess of the courtdress use, would be only at court, and only indoors. Mostly used when the royalty is pressent. Why so many portraits of ladies wearing this style? My guess is that it would have ben their finest dress and therefore often seen in portraits, because they want to show that they were allowed to be pressent at court.

Just curious as this is not a period of expertise for me, is the Fair
expecting her to be as accurate as possible in attire?
If so, was red worn and what shade of red, if worn?
Would the red have been worn outdoors or was it saved for specific attire
like a ballgown?
Were trains worn outdoors or only for formal occasions?
