I have been collecting sewing machines so our dance group can make
costumes. As many of the dancers are students our budget was limited,
so I asked around for donations of old machines. These machines have
been wonderful and are often easy to service without taking in to
shops. I have about 8 sewing machines and two overlockers.
My husqvana is in for repairs, again, and these back up machines are
saving my skin!
In the meantime I'm contemplating selling my industrial satin stitcher
and straight stitcher and buying an embroidery machine, not for
sewing, but to do embroidery on baroque frockcoats and waistcoats. We
have been doing it all by hand, lovely, but slow. I've held off
because all our computers are macs, but I've now got a laptop with
windows xp on it, so might be able to use the software. Now I'm
looking for a good machine in the lower price bracket that will suit.

Cheers, Aylwen
