What are people's thoughts on the garments depicted in the early 14th c. 
Manesse Codex that have diagonal striped designs?  Woven as diagonal stripes?

Speaking as an ex-weaver, it can be done but it's a real pain. It's a lot easier to weave vertical or horizontal stripes and cut the garment differently.
