Being a panelist at a Costume Con doesn't mean that anyone will think you are an expert, only that you may have a different perspective on t he topic than the costumer sitting next to you. At my first CC, I Was on one panel, it was bit intimidiating ofr me (and I didn't even KNOW anyoneyet!) but the moderator made sure to give me a bit of time to explain "how I did things" so at least I felt I added a voice to the topic.
Please do come; you don't have to be a panelist, but it is just SO WONDERFUL to be with a large group of like-minded people who understand what you love to do and why you do it. IT's about that simple. So come for whatever parts of it you can--I guanrantee you'll have a blast and we defintiely do not bite.
