The workshops that Robin did last year were outstanding!

<blush> Glad you liked them. It was great fun.

I've been to, hmm, three Costume-Cons, and had a blast every time. I've always come as a guest speaker, giving multiple lectures or panels, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity.

For the person who wondered about whether it was OK to not wear a costume: It's not required at all. I've tried to dress up for the Friday social because it's fun, but I haven't worn hall costumes, mostly because I typically don't have the time or luggage space to deal with anything beyond what I'm wearing for my lectures.

There's plenty to do and see. If you love costume, you won't be bored or feel out of place. You will very likely meet people with similar interests. When you see people in the hall wearing costumes you like, don't hesitate to stop them to give a compliment, or ask about how something was done. Nearly always, they'll want to tell you all about it.

Want visuals? My friend Don McClane was the con's roving photographer last year. He crammed his 400 favorite images into a three-and-a-half-minute slideshow overview, here:

You'll see images from the hallway, classes, doll competition, masquerades, and more, including quite a few portraits of people from this list. Feel free to leave him a comment.

For a slower look, check out his full galleries:

The first gallery is the pix he used in the overview; the next three galleries cover everything. Click on any photo for a high-res version. Yes, you may download them. Please give credit to Don McClane if you use them.
