David, let me correct a slight inaccuracy in what you stated. If the nested
table of Secondary Options were "DINUMed" you would be correct in stating
that the total number could not exceed the number of entries in the Option
file. However, the value of the field is not tied to the value of the
subscript in the nested table. In other words, duplicates can be entered.
(Not that that's desirable, but it's allowed).

Subject: Re: [Hardhats-members] How many Secondary Menus can be assigned?

No.
The SECONDARY MENU is a subfile, and hence may have an arbitrary number
of entries.
Yes.
Practically, the SECONDARY MENU is a pointer (reference) to the main OPTION
file, so if there are 89,013 entries in the OPTION File, there can only be
89,013 unique entries in the SECONDARY MENU. Of course, if you add a new
option in the OPTION file, you can up the number of possible secondary
menus.

Truly Practically, if you find you are giving a lot of Secondary Menus to
someone, you would probably be best to create a new menu with all of them in
it. If they quit working, you would have to re-assign all of those menus to
their successor, and it is a lot easier just to assign a single menu than
a lot of them.
