May I suggest (the large) RIM model for HL7 v3. It's XML. http://www.hl7.org/Library/data-model/index.cfm
It may not be a simple implementation of what you're looking for but it is a standard and more than likely has too much. I wish I had a quick little XML sample to paste in but I couldn't dig up anything quickly.
