SMB is for file sharing so long as you just want to be able to access the
program from a windows machine you should be fine. 3.0 has some interesting
features that let it act as a domain controller so you can have common
passwords between you *nix box and windows machines. Mac OSX is just BSD
with a different window manager.

There is a commercial productr called VirtualPC, but I don't know how
well it will run CPRS. Since it's a true virtual machine and not an
emulation library like Wine, I think it should be okay.
