Are you using the callback protocol or the direct connect protocol? Do you lose the connection after periods of inactivity? If so, I suspect that your ssh is configured for keep-alive, where the client and server periodically say hi to each other even if there is nothing to say, whereas the CPRS client and server may not have a keep-alive, and some stateful firewall forgets about the connection.
