Right. Hell, there are 865 775 boards that will do core2, but you won't find an 
sis 661gx or a via pm800 lga775 that does :)

As does 965, NV 680i, RD600, and even some 945's (not QC). That is not to
say that any LGA775 chip will work on any LGA775 motherboard. This is
definitely not the case.
