Hey! Greg!!!!
Preach on Brother!
I spent 33yrs troubleshooting this stuff.
And, why I understand your point(s)

I've seen enough burned, molten, or otherwise damaged Molex-type connectors

reasonably debate that a modular connector is more reliable than a hardwired
connection. Ultimately, you have a connector at the device attachment point,
but I'd still prefer to keep the connections to a minimum.
I'm not trying to convince anyone that they shouldn't buy a modular PSU. I'm
simply stating, once again, that I would prefer one without to meet my own
preferences and requirements, and fully admit that many will not share them.

Subject: Re: [H] Modular PSUs?
LOL! The connectors used in modular are not going to cause resistance
problems, keeping track of the cables might be an issue for some. Not
enough of a reason to not use modular IMHO, the only reason I can see is
if
price is higher for same PSU to be modular. If the connectors are standard
enough, then it would not be an issue of tracking cables "specific to one
PSU".
