Greg,
Sadly, I seem to be old school also; and, why I sent my original question.
I have never had a problem storing / hiding the not-used wire bundles.
Surprised I am that so many positive replies came back about modular.
I am willing to try a modular psu ATM.
I have now researched 3 Seasonic PSUs. They are:
Seasonic SS-560KM (gold) modular 80+ (via NewEgg)
Seasonic X650 (gold) modular active PFC (via NewEgg)
Seasonic X750 (gold) modular active PFC (via NewEgg)
I lean strongly to the SS-560KM (gold) choice ATM for replacements. The
machines for these new PSUs are older tech (specs if helpful). I will
think some more about the X750 (gold) now, however. Thank you.
The PSUs I will replace are PCP&C Turbo-Cool 510 ATX-PFC Deluxe (m/n
T51ATX-DX). I spoke with Tech Support yesterday to confirm that these 2
PSUs are totally "EndOfLife."
Sadly, the tech shared that modern PSUs no longer output -5vdc. This
may cause old audio logic to not work. My 2 old clients do zero audio.
Ho-hum!
Heck! I knew these PSUs were EOL 5 days after I received them back in
2005 and tried to register their warranties! But, I did get 5 years of
service out of the [new door stop] that caused my latest head-scratch
fiasco.
Thank you.
Best,
Duncan

I must be old school. All else being equal, I'd rather have a non-modular
unit. I'd prefer not to have the extra resistance, extra point for failure,
and extra crap to keep track of, but that's me. I also tend to use most of
my connections, and always end up needing Y's for drives.
That said, if my SeaSonic S12-600 died today, I'd be getting the X750 Gold
as a replacement, and it's modular only.

Modular is the way to go. With less cable clutter inside, it's always a
win-
win... :)

Are there List members that use Modular PSUs?
If so, opinions are welcome!
I understand "Modular" to mean a PSU that has selective electrical
connectors on the rear of the PSU (PC Output side) in place of the old
bundle
of wires and connectors.
I am shopping a pair of replacement PSUs. I may try Modular this cycle.
