Agreed. And nobody understands how to protect windows better then MS. The only reason they never offered it with the OS is because of the appearance of anti trust violations, although there has been calls for it from MS from every major computer magazines since the early nineties. I guess they got fed up with Windows constantly being called insecure, or slow, because of third party AV apps, so rather then incorporate it directly into the OS, they offer it for free, users choice. It is a great AV mall ware solution.

Just because it is made by Microsoft does not mean MSSE is bad.  It is very
lightweight, does not crash, and does the best job of removing malware that
I have seen.  And it is free.  I never used AV until I started using it
because I was turned off by the crappy choices and I love it.
