I only have 3 boxes now and all of them only run Security Essentials and nothing else except my router of course. I can't remember the last time I was infected with any malware or virii.

I plan on trying that in my server, W7 ultimate/64
currently running AVG Security suite in that.

Curiously enough, Security Essentials is based on Windows Defender. Kind
of an updated supercharged Defender with more features.

no bias here, just have run window defender forever and have never had
it actually find anything like the other programs.

I will give it a try on my server ( currently w7 and AVG Security suite)

There seems to be a lot of anti-MS bias on here that isn't based on any
real
data other than opinion.

Just because it is made by Microsoft does not mean MSSE is bad. It is
very
lightweight, does not crash, and does the best job of removing malware
that
I have seen. And it is free. I never used AV until I started using it
because I was turned off by the crappy choices and I love it.

It's that time again where I will soon need to get a new AV suite.

What's the consensus?

I'm looking for 3 Computer protection.

Had McAfee before, was okay, caught virii, but slowed system down.
