Maybe I'm being stupid. I think I can get ten HDDs and one optical drive in this case (which is what I'm using now),

if I use 3 3.5-5.25inch drive bay adapters.

Agree?

I'm going to use some kind of raid card in the PC to extend the number of drives beyond what the mobo normally allows. I haven't sorted out the details but people here have said that is what they do...this machine will be my movie (blu-ray .iso) server box.

Hey Anthony, I'm pretty interested in this too as I've got like 3 single HD external cases and lots of HDs to store and will be watching this thread with interest...

What I'm wondering though is how you're going to access all the drives? Are you building a PC that will have lots of HDs on the PC or if not, how are you going to make the HDs accessible? Curious...

Subject: [H] High Drive-Bay Case Recommendation

I think I want to go the case-route from building up a system with a
goodly number of HDs inside. I think this will let me spread the costs
out longer over time, which is important. I'm about to go looking on
newegg, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone here has some experience
with case that holds, and is designed to hold, lots of HDDs? I'd like
all the hardware to mounting drives to be included (I have a case here
that only has hardware to support 4 HDDs, even though it has enough room
for more). That's what I get for trying to save some money, I guess.
But then again, I had no notion that I'd be doing this now.

Usual stuff. I would like good cooling though the use of large diameter
low-rpm fans. I'm thinking Cooler Master something or other.
