U-Verse HD quality is widely reported to be inferior to other offerings. U-Verse internet is okay. Latency is a touch (10ms or so) higher than DSL or cable due to the error correction in place for a service designed for video, and speed tiers top out at 24mbit, but it's economical. They do have data caps, not currently enforced, but coming from Comcast that's nothing new.
I have an 18mbit U-Verse internet package as my backup connection. After running a Cat5e drop from the NID to the ATT CPE (RG), my signal quality is excellent, and the connection is extremely stable. More so, in fact, than cable--but that's typical of what I've seen with cable vs. xDSL. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Al Anger Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2012 11:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [H] Uverse installation Anyone care to share their opinion of AT&T Uverse? We'd like to kick Comcast to the curb. I've looked all over their site and I haven't found what type of wiring to run, twisted pair or coaxial. Or both... TIA al -- Al Anger <[email protected]>
