A reminder to all those who consider a full or a one day registration to the 14th World Congress of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem.
The International Committee of AJL has arranged and sponsored two sessions at the Fourteenth World Congress of Jewish Studies. The Congress will take place at the Mount Scopus campus of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem from Sunday, July 31 until Thursday, August 4, 2005. The AJL Sessions will be no. 533 and 534, both on Tuesday, 2 Aug. As has already become a tradition, Jerusalem Books will sponsor a reception after the sessions. Session 533 will be from 3-5 PM in Room 2729 Chaired by Yael Penkower. Speakers: Prof. Elhanan Adler, JNUL, Israel Ms. Meira Harroch, JNUL, Israel Mr. Chaim Seymour, Bar Ilan University, Israel Session 534 will be from 5:30 PM to 7:30 in Room 2729 Chair: Ya'akov Aronson. Speakers: Dr. Bella Haas Weinberg - St John's University, USA Dr. Ilana Tahan, British Library, England Note 1: the entire Congress program (more than 1000 lectures) is avialable in Hebrew and English on the web page http://www.jewish-studies.org Note 2: A slight shift in the time table may be possible, to allow people to attend the next session at the Schoken Library (Balfur 6 in Rehavia) from 7:30-9:45 (!) The session is entitled: Hebrew Unicums from the Libraries of the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Jewish Nationa Library.
