Google (meaning keyword searching) will never tell if a descriptive authority changes its name. Keyword can not cope with different authors using different terminology (such as someone who doesn't know the difference between Palestinian dinosaur tracks and Israeli dinosaur tracks, or that the Rambam wrote books on Arabic drugs while Musa ibn Maymun al-Qurtubi al-Andalusi wrote books on Jewish law).
Collecting large sets in an unanalyzed whole can be useful, especially if you provide access to each item (either through the 505 field, or by having a descriptive record for each item, while providing subject access only to the record for the entire set).
