Questions here, i.e. not a flame: Supercollider as a server process seems to be close to best-available for prototyping these days. At the very least there are plenty of projects reworking SCLang. Scalacollider, Overtone, LOLC (http://www.gtcmt.gatech.edu/research-projects/lolc). I'm curious as regards what UGens in general do not do.
