I added a gsoc-ized ticket for Realtek Gigabit Ethernet (#519) and closed an earlier duplicate thereof.
Not that I have anything against driver-related ideas, but I suggest that we somehow group such tickets on the ideas page to make it more clear that they are related and that implementing drivers for other NICs than listed is possible.
Another area which comes to mind is whether porting HelenOS to RaspberryPi could be a good GSoC project.
Definitively yes, I'll create the ticket for GSoC. My own porting efforts to RPi have still not taken off.

I can live without the AMD Lance driver -- the number of emulators supporting only this NIC is pretty low by now. On the other hand, if we present the ideas in a more structured form, we can keep the idea. After all, it is only an idea.
With regard to Sgi Octane: I still have the machine and it would be rather cool to see HelenOS booting on it. Of course, it is totally a niche interest, but I am ready to mentor such project.
