If the floor can be both waterproof and wind proof, I am a big fan of
velcro because it's so reusable. One reason I tape my tarp to the
outside of the hexayurt is that I like my tarp to stay flat on the
floor. Wind can pretty easily slip under the floor of the hexayurt and
lift up the tarp, especially depending on what the high or low
pressure systems are doing. Even my tarp gets some lift if I don't
have rugs all over it.
There have been some other innovations about the flooring issues of
the yurt. I discovered a major drawback for yurts near big speakers:
The hexayurt is so tightly bound to the ground that the bass
vibrations carry up your walls and makes the bass beat sound louder
inside the hexayurt! People have discussed using various weather
stripping foams to distribute that vibration-- adding another factor
to the tarp-to-yurt connection.

What if you used sticky back velcro (2'-3' think) for attaching the
tarp
to the hexayurt? My thought is to put the hook side on the tarp and
the
loop side on the walls of the hexayurt. I think it will get rid of the
danger of cutting your walls.
