This "default behavior" is different for everybody and is part of the
configuration of the browser/OS.
I wouldn't want a website to be able to mess with/ignore my settings.
And what if the user wants to open the document before/without saving it?
Going straight to a "save" prompt doesn't allow this.

A user can save the document using the right-click menu. Or open it and then
save it.
Or whatever the user is used to do in such a case, so why interfere??
If you really think your user is not capable of doing this, provide help
(button, hover, ...).

Hi all,

For known MIME types such as Microsoft Word ("application/ms-word"), the default behavior is to open the document in the browser. How can I configure hippo cocoon based website in order to prompt the user to save the file directly to the user's disk, without opening it in the browser.

Thanks in advance.
