Ok, I do understand the developers view. Now, I am not a subscriber but lets try the subscribers view!
A subscribing customer who bought Condition Zero (for instance) through STEAM to play online does not care one bit about the developing end of it or if the game is 5 years old! They just want what they are subscribing for to work. :) Or the guy who sells servers view.
