I'd never thought of that, but in retrospect that would possibly work really well. With an option of either just the initial message (topics only) or also including the posts thereafter (followups), with the links in the entires pointing to their respective topic. Then, if there's an interesting topic, you could keep updated on it on the respective webpage for the topic or use the second version of the feed which included followups. That'd also allow it to be a bit more threaded for people not using something like gmail.
