workstation: FreeBSD/solaris/gentoo playmachine: Windows2k3/WindowsXP in my experience the only thing that worked allot better in windows was games, i'm allot more productive in a nix environment, but i have also been using unix's since before (DigitalUIX on a machine at my old isp, logged in from a p90 with no HD running the 1.44 floppy release of QNX i was way to cheap to invest in new hardware when my isp had all this shiny new equipment :) ) windows was released.i have had this debate before tho, it really boils down to what you are most comfortable in. BUT i do feel that evolution is alot more complete/usable than outlook will ever be, it even spawns a back ground process to alert you when things are coming up on your calendar, i'll throw up a screenshot on one of my machines.
