Its very real.  Your ignorance is shocking.  Please explain to me how 32%
cpu on de_airstrip with 15 players is "not real"?

All fo you are misinterpreting what I am saying also.  OBVIOUSLY if you
stack the server with players, its going to also make an exponential
difference on the system.  And you are missing the underlying point here.
HLDS performs really shitty on newer kernels, and to me, normal on this
2.4.9 kernel.  I can recall easily running 1 x 32 player cs, and 1 x 32
player dod on dual MP 1600 as well as apache+php (forums) and qmail, and
STILL having cpu left to run a private 12 man server.

What shocks me is how much cpu all of you think that HLDS is supposed to
use, especially for a simplistic game like counter-strike.  Its not like the
results I am posting are for Natural Selection or Day of Defeat.

With each release HLDS gets shittier and shittier performance, and what goes
hand in hand with new hlds releases is that we are also running more modern
kernels.  Taking a step back in time and using 2.4.9 shows vastly reduced
cpu, and its not some illusion like you all seem to think.

I have added 2 more 16 player servers to that box, and i'll post the results
when they fill up.  Preliminary results:

The cpu% differs because not all the readings were taken at the same precise
moment, but within several seconds of each other.

I will keep looking and try to get results of when all servers are actually
full.  You can see 0% because of the way I check for cpu.  If it is less
than 1% it is rounded down to 0%.  And I take 1 sample every 1 second, as
you all know hlds servers will spike useage, more at the start and early
stages of a round, and much less when players are dead, so think before you
leap and say its not possible.

If you still think i've been out back on the harley huffing some gas, go
play on the servers for your self.
