There is no point in making something if you're not going to do a good job while you're at it. The last few updates have been like this. You're not putting yourself in the shoes of the GSP's here who may have tens or even hundreds of paying costumers asking why theier service isn't up. Or the people who run servers so they and their gang, clan, friends or whatever can play on their own server. None of that matters anyway. They should do some decent testing before a release and they are obviously not doing enough now.
If you know you might have problems with updates, dont autoupdate, have backups, etc.
This update is required.
