As there is a direct correlation between your high points on CPU "load" you may be overloading your machine. Hard to tell without knowing what "load" really is.

I am gathering information on poor performance of srcds on linux... FPS has always been unstable on my systems. If anything the last update did not make it better. In the first 24 hours after this last update i did have more complaints about lag then before. I have a mrtg setup that graphs CS:Source performance: It currently monitors 3 cs:source instances for Current Users, FPS (1 sample per 5 mins), and overall CPU and Memory usage.
