THIS. Shouldn't need to much about with search keys and mm_force_dedicated, if lobby leaders could specify a steam group things would be sooo much more user-friendly Only issue would be if, between starting the lobby and starting to look for a server, the last unreserved server for that steamgroup got taken - in which case, it would make sense to punt the people back to the lobby so the leader can select another steam group / set search key / go with j.random server Alternatively, if valve want us to use search_key, can THAT be added to the UI? I firmly believe the lobby system (you assemble your friends before going on-server, and have control over gametype/campaign) makes sense for the low-player-count, long-gameplay-session l4d games, as opposed to the traditional drop-in-for-20-mins-then-leave-again server browser system of more traditional multiplayer FPS games, but better ways for lobby leaders to be able to select known-good dedicated servers from the UI need to be added _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
