Thanks to you all for your valuable time sharing your comments on my question.
Last night, I got rid of my VirtualBox of Ubuntu from Windows 7 and created an additional partition for Ubuntu. So, I am now dual-booting between Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10 and have installed all rails components onto it. Ubuntu 9.10 runs really fast on its own partition and I like it so far. At work, I am developing in Sun Solaris too using perl & tcl scripts with Xemacs but gEdit would work for me too for Hobo + Rails projects. Many people seem to use Vim, but I am still not used to using its key mappings with ESC standard mode. So, I will stick with gEdit for a while. But, once again, I THANK YOU ALL for your valuable time having answered my question ;-) Now, I am trying to create some prototype of my next project using Hobo/Rails and will keep you updated how it goes.
