Hi Scorpio,

I have the same problem with the male/female form for the PT translation. Are there any ideas on how to deal with this?

Thanks,
  TF

By multiple at the same time I mean like pl.yml and hobo.pl.yml at the
same time.
Furthermore How do I specify pluralization rules (complex ones) in the
file ? because :one :many :other won't cut it. not even close. There
are a few things one needs to take into account before adding the
appropriate word ending - the equivalent of the English "{{model}}s".
if that won't work i'll stick with "Indeks:{{model}}" or whatever but
I'd like to be a bit more natural about it. Basicaly what I need is
establishing male, famale, neutral form by taking the model name string
apart. Is that even doable within the locale file ?

PL! Fantastic!

I need to know something of your pluralization, so that a new hobo feature
that I am implementing will be also Polish-friendly. I will get in touch
with you by email, if you don't mind.

Anyway, what do you mean with "run multiple yml at the same time"? All the
yml in the locales dirs are loaded and available "at the same time", so I am
not sure to understand your question.

I'll gladly contribute a PL locale for Hobo if anyone would be so kind
as to tell me how do i actually run multiple yml at the same time
(i'll be using the rails error messages etc from the rails PL locale
and a hobo.* locale for the Hobo parts) any help on that ?

Franco,
you are very welcome!
I will write a little guide to help anyone that wants to contribute
with a new language. Anyway that's a quite trivial task: as Owen
pointed out, the hobo internal locale files are those in hobo/config/
locales. You can just make a copy of one of those and move it to
<yourapp>/config/locales/hobo.pt.yml. Then you can translate it and
try it in your app from there (in development mode any change you do
to any locale file will be picked on the next request, no need to
restart the server). Then, when you are satisfied with your work,
please let me know, so I will add it to the official locale files.
BTW, the 'DO' in the 'es-DO' locale stands for Dominican Republic. It
is a little different by a locale 'es' or a locale 'es-AR' for
example, mainly for the currency, date and time formats, but
sometimes, also for the way to say the same thing.

Sorry : -)
Look under config/locales:
http://screencast.com/t/N2IyNzkyY
you will see:
hobo.en.yml
hobo.es-DO.yml (what does the DO stand for?)
hobo.it.yml

  hehehe.
My Italian is a little rusty :)
I'll try to locate the English version of the file in Hobo's source
and
upload the PT version.
Thanks,

Here is an example you may have already seen. Uploading the PT

on the hobodev group would be a start...
