Do you all know the old story about Adolph "Bud" Herseth and the mute?  It 
seems that during a performance, Bud dropped his mute, picked it up and gave it 
to the second trumpet (can't recall his name) so that everyone would think it 
was the second player's fault. After the concert, Bud asked for his mute back, 
but the guy refused and kept it for decades.
