In the book, Neuling - thirty Studies for low horn book 1

Number 9 - the opening marking is:

Presto then a minim (half note) is printed.

A few lines later it says: Presto, followed by a crotchet (quarter note)

On the next page it says crotchet (quarter note) = then nothing.

I have never seen anything like this before - are they misprints or do they
mean something, and if so, what?

Thanks

Lawrence
