Maybe the player is supposed to fill in the info. What tempos (tempi?) can
YOU successfully execute the study?  Hopefully someone truly familiar
w/these works will know for sure!

A few lines later it says: Presto, followed by a crotchet (quarter note)

On the next page it says crotchet (quarter note) =        then nothing.

I have never seen anything like this before - are they misprints or do they
mean something, and if so, what?
