The thought occurred to me that if you're absorbing copper from handling your horn, you would also be absorbing zinc already since brass contains 30% zinc. Actually I think the zinc component is probably more "available" than the copper since the zinc seems to rot out first leaving copper behind. Isn't there a hair test that can find if you have too much copper in your system? Anyway, I don't remember if I might have mentioned that you can get some involuntary shaking if your horn is not in tune. You're trying to play in tune, but the horn's not at that pitch so you get a very unstable note that can wobble on you like an involuntary vibrato. That would certainly be the easiest thing to check on first, just tune the horn. I guess I'm absorbing nickel from my horn, I wonder what that's going to do to me?
