Hello all,

I am unfamiliar with this work.

I'm playing 2nd horn for this concert, and, oddly, I've been given two 2nd horn
parts: one marked "horn in Do/C", and a second marked "horn in Fa/F".

In my view, the second 2nd horn part marked "horn in Fa/F" goes quite high for
a 2nd horn, especially at mm. 105-106, and again at mm. 115-117; the other
part, marked "horn in Do/C" seems much more in the range of a 2nd horn part,
unless the composer intended the horn part to be played "horn in Do/C" alto [up
a perfect fifth], but this is not indicated on the part.

I'm thinking that it would be more appropriate to play the "in Do/C" part
transposed down a perfect fourth, and the composer intended it to be played
this way.

I'd be grateful if someone could clarify the performance requirement for this
work.

Sincerely,
martin bender
